THROWBACK THURSDAY

The first pic was taken a few months after my WLS when I had blown a hernia in one of my incisions (it was fixed a few weeks later – right before Christmas) but I was finally getting brave enough to take pics of myself! And then 👉🏻 This morning. I think it is safe to say that there has been quite a bit of surgery and some complications along the way over the past 5.5 years but I remain profoundly grateful for this body of mine and one of my personal goals is to do everything I can to make myself as strong and well as I can be. I am still wishing I could do more after my knee surgery and subsequent muscle tear but my goals are all about what I can achieve in the gym in the next 12 months! There is no point being frustrated by what I cannot do right now – I am just keeping my eyes ahead on what I can do. Sometimes it is good to have a little look back and remember just how far we have come and the mountains we have already climbed. It gives me faith that I can do the next part of the story. I haven’t been able to spend time in the gym since July 😞 but I am enjoying that I have been able to be active again with my physios guidance and you better believe I am going to make the most of the next 12 months and regain my strength. I have 30%less strength in my left hammy – and. 20% deficit in my quad strength. It just goes to show how much injury can impact us. So that is my first goal – to get my left leg back to as good as it can be. #gastricbypassaustralia #gastricbypass #wlscommunity #wlsjourney #wls
